Jiri Harcuba Monument

Tours available from June to September upon request

A timbered single-storey house with a glass cutting workshop has been preserved in the appearance characteristic of rural architecture on the border between the Jizerske Mountains and the Krkonose. It was built as a glassmaker’s dwelling linked to the Novy Svet glassworks, and is a typical example of a late 18th-century regional rural building.

The historically very valuable glass cutting and engraving home workshop holds a uniquely preserved collection of glassmaking technologies. The house was therefore declared national heritage back in 1980.

Arrange a tour

It is only open to the public twice a year: in June as part of the Rural Architecture Days and in September as part of the European Heritage Days.

For one-off visits, contact the curator of the collection in the North Bohemia Museum in Liberec at kristyna.rossmannova@muzeumlb.cz. Individual tours are available only upon prior arrangement from June to September for groups of at least 8 people.
