Harrachov

Harrachov is the western gateway to the domain of Krakonos, master of the mountains. It is a town with a glassmaking tradition, where the first glassworks were established in the 18th century. But it is also a town of sports, especially skiing and ski jumping. You are welcome to visit the town in summer, too, and you will see it as a paradise for adrenaline, hiking, relaxation and rest.

A range of activities which will enthuse you

Harrachov is a well-known centre of tourism and winter sports. The whole area has an extensive network of hiking trails, dozens of kilometres of groomed and marked cross-country trails, and downhill tracks of all difficulties. If you seek thrills you will also enjoy your time here. You can choose from many activities, from the bobsleigh track through rope park to a giant see-saw. Cyclists will appreciate the many bike trails around the town as well as the pumptrack trail.

Natural riches and tradition

The beautiful countryside around Harrachov is undoubtedly its greatest treasure. Discover the charm of the Mumlavsky waterfall. Take a tour to the sources of the River Labe.

History of Glass and Skiing

The oldest private glassworks have been in operation in Harrachov for more than 300 years without interruption. Come and see the work of the glassmakers and learn about this traditional craft on an excursion. Do you know what equipment people used for skiing one hundred years ago? And how the ski jumping techniques changed? You will learn this when you visit the Ski Museum.
