The Sindelka Forestry and Game Management Exhibition
The traditional roof covering, shingle, used to be made in a building in Harrachov, known today as Sindelka, from the early 19th century. The granite building now houses an exhibition on forest and game management. The last sixty thousand shingle pieces were manufactured in 1934 and used in the old Labska chalet.
The forestry exhibition presents various matters in forestry, from tree felling, through log removal to roads and their transport for further processing, to the replanting of forests and their subsequent management.
The gamekeeping exhibition is dedicated to the history and present of gamekeeping, including traditions, deer hunting, hunting weapons and dogs, gamekeeping in art and in everyday life.
The greatest attraction, especially for children, is the wintering reserve where several forest species gather around a crib which offers several types of forage. Video loops on various topics are shown in the museum, along with a projection of photographs depicting the beauty of the Krkonose forests and mountain massifs.
