Lánov

The first records on Lánov date back to 1355, to the reign of King Charles IV., however, the village had been founded long before that along the River Malé Labe on a floodplain. Besides pasture and farming, the local people earned a living from home textile production and the quarrying and production of limestone, which has lasted up to today.

At the edge of Lánov, an airport for gliders and sailplanes was established in 1933. After periods of improvements and growing importance, it has become a popular tourist destination.
