Are you in the Krkonose Mountains for the first time and are you hesitating where to go? We have selected the most beautiful routes for you, planned them and serve them to you. The routes take you to iconic places you know from photos and want to experience for yourself. But they usually don't stop there, because you're not just here for a dozen Instagram selfies either.
You're here for the miles of mountain trails, the pure nature, the summits you've climbed, the view back down into the valley. You like to refresh your forehead with spring mountain water and soothe your throat with a real Krkonose beer.
So where to?
The Elbe Valley to the source of the Elbe
Climb up the wild glacial valley along the Elbe River to its symbolic source. You will walk from the very bottom of the glacial karsts to the top of the Elbe Pits, from whose perpendicular walls both the Pancava and Elbe waterfalls fall.
The route is 19 kilometres long.
Around the Dvorsky Forest to Rychory
A full-day sightseeing tour takes you to the beautiful natural sites of the remote Rychory Mountains. They have been little affected by man, and so the varied mountain meadows and deep forests have been preserved. The deepest of these is the Dvorsky Forest, characterised by twisted and moss-covered beech trees.
In contrast, another great work of art, the Stachelberg Fortress, was created exclusively by man. Do not miss a visit to this place.

From Pec pod Snezkou to Cerna hora
Climb from Pec pod Snezkou to the top of Cerna Hora. You will visit the extensive Cerna Hora Peat Bogs, learn about its layers and how it is formed. You'll reach Lučiny, a meadow enclave at the foot of Cerna and Svetla Mountain, dotted with cottages and huts that will be happy to refresh you for the journey ahead. One of the most beautiful views of Snezka and Obri Dul will lead you back to Pec.

From Rokytnice via Dvoracky to Harrachov
A pleasant trip on which you will get to know two important resorts of the western Krkonose Mountains. You will start in Rokytnice with a view from the tower of the town hall. You will go to the Hutsky waterfall, which winds through the beech forests like a glittering ribbon and then falls from a height of 20 metres. Refreshments on the terrace of the Dvoracky restaurant with a view will delight you. And then head towards Harrachov.
The route is 13.5 kilometres long.
Over the source of the Elbe to the Snezne jamy
If you wish to visit the symbolic source of the Elbe, but do not want to go back like most tourists, you can extend your hike by climbing the Snezne jamy. Look down into the more than 200-metre-deep karsts, where the pools glisten at the bottom. Then run down the Horse Path to Labská bouda, and don't forget to stop at Kamenná studanka. The Elbe Mine and the Elbe and Pancava waterfalls await you.

From Horni Mala Upa Fairytale way to the church
A pleasant walk through a picturesque mountain village will take you through the fairy tales of Marie Kubátová. You will walk through the Eličina valley to the church, where you will feel the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. The trail is also suitable for families with children you can do it with a stroller and strong arms.
The route is 6.5 kilometres long.
Behind the Krkonose stones
A beautiful trail in the central Krkonose Mountains will lead you through the Krkonose chalets. From Spindleruv Mlyn you will climb to the Spindlerova bouda (you can get help by a bus) and then you will run along the ridge trail. You will find the Girl's and Man's Stones or the Bird's Stone. You will meet Petrovka, Martinovka, Moravska or Medvedi bouda. You will walk through the heart of the Krkonose Mountains and you may not even want to go back.

From Spindleruv Mlyn to Kotelni jamy
A beautiful ridge hike to the Kotelni Jamy, which is said in fairy tales to be where Krakonos boils fog and hides wild winds. At the beginning, feel free to let the cable car help you, from Medvedin it is an easy climb to the Zlate navrsi. You will enjoy the Hanc and Vrbata Mound and the Kotel viewpoint. The Kotelni jamy are most beautiful in autumn, when they are filled with colourful leaves.

The valley of the White Elbe and the slopes of the Kozi hrbety Ridge
The White Elbe is a lovely Krkonose river that bounces over rocks in rapids and overcomes cascades in tiny waterfalls. Its frothy water evokes the colour white, hence the apt name. The trail upstream is initially a pleasant walk, but later turns into a climb on real mountain paths. The route will take you to the Lucni bouda. It is recommended to go back along the red trail and walk along the slopes of the Kozi hrbety Ridge. The local Krakonos lookout is one of the most beautiful in the Krkonose Mountains.

Through the Modry Dul to Vyrovka
Modry dul is a beautiful mountain valley with several original cottages, which are listed as a protected ensemble of original mountain architecture. Visit this charming, quiet place under the massif of the Lucni and Studnicni Mountains before starting the long climb to Richter's Chalets and Vyrovka.

What about Snezka?
We haven't forgotten that one. Of course, climbing it is one of the top experiences. If you choose the right time. In the summer season, it is worth looking at Snezka from afar and leaving it to the crowds of mostly Polish tourists.
