Kotel Mountain
Vítkovice v Krkonoších
Kotel Mountain, at 1435 m a.s.l., is the highest mountain of the western Krkonose ridge in the Czech Republic. Its flat peak and varying steep and high slopes opening up to the Kotelni jamy corrie valleys have led it to be deemed one of the most beautiful mountains in the Krkonose.
Velke Kotelni jamy and Male Kotelni jamy, into which the south-eastern side of Kotel falls, are of glacial origin with an abundance of mountain flora. The entire area is protected as Zone I of the Krkonossky National Park. The red-marked Czech-Polish Friendship Path leads along the sides of Kotel.
