Vosecka chalet
Vosecka chalet is located in the western part of the Krkonose Mountains at an altitude of 1260 m. The hut is not connected to the electricity grid, the energy is produced by an aggregate. It is one of the few huts on the ridge that has never been affected by fire.

Location
The access road from Harrachov leads past the Mumlava waterfalls, through the valley of the Mumlava river to the Krakonos's breakfast and then through the forest to the chalet. In winter it turns into a skiing highway, which can only be traveled on skis. About three kilometres to the east, in the Elbe Meadow, the source of the Elbe River rises, and the nearby viewpoint at the Szrenica Chalet is also worth a walk.
Accommodation and catering
Vosecka chalet offers accommodation in double, triple, quadruple, quintuple rooms and one thirteen-bed room for up to 42 guests. Toilets, washrooms and showers are shared. Due to the power generation, emergency lighting is available in the corridors, bathrooms and rooms from 10 pm.
The kitchen works:
- Sunday - Thursday until 7 pm, accommodation is possible until 8 pm.
- Friday and Saturday until 8 pm, accommodation is possible until 9 pm.
From history
A chalet that has retained its original character, one of the few that has never burned down. Vosecka chalet was founded before 1743 as a hayloft, around 1790 it served as a shelter for woodcutters and outbuildings. It was called Ceska Nova or also Frantiskanska, after the monk who lived there. It was named "Vosecka" after the meadow on which it stands.
It has been used for tourist purposes since 1896 and was rebuilt and extended in 1900. It was rebuilt after the end of the Second World War. Its rarity is the absence of electricity, the necessary energy is produced by a diesel generator.
