Town Hall Tower with Unique Clock
The clock tower of the town hall features a unique repeating clock from the mid-19th century whose chimes help everyone to easily tell the time.
The town hall in Jilemnice is probably situated on the site of the original Mediaeval seat of the mayor. Its Neo-classical appearance comes from 1789 after a fire. The clock tower of the town hall features a unique repeating clock from the mid-19th century which chimes every quarter hour, giving both the quarters and the hours. On the hour, the number of hours repeats in a different tone. The clock, which is still fully mechanical, chimes 1020 times every day. The building is occupied by the Municipal council. The tower with the clock is accessible with a guide from the information centre.
