The Railway Station in Martinice
The station, lying on the line also called the Jizera Pacific, was built in 1871 and is unique in several respects. It is the highest located station on the line and also enjoys the status of protected national heritage. Rail operation in the station is still controlled by now very rare mechanical signals.
The station is a unique complex with a preserved and fully functional control and security system dating back to the mid-20th century, and was therefore declared a national monument in 2016.
Museum and Educational Trail
The Railway Museum is located in the station building and offers exhibitions on the history of the Martinice station, its control system, railways in the area and the local line no. 042 Martinice v Krkonosich – Rokytnice nad Jizerou.
