Pojizersky Circuit

Jilemnice - Rezek - Rokytnice nad Jizerou - Vysoke nad Jizerou - Semily - Jilemnice

This track, leading through the hills along the River Jizera, will take you to picturesque spots in the western parts of the Krkonose, through the River Jizera valley and its left-hand tributary, the Jizerka. You will ride through the valley past numerous river bends and also in the surrounding hills. From the Krkonose’s small mountain villages, it will take you to the border with the neighbouring area of Cesky raj (the Bohemian Paradise). As a reward for the frequent ascents, you will be offered some of the most beautiful views of the Krkonose and also ones far into the adjacent landscape, to convince you of the diversity and beauty of the Czech landscape.

Starting at the main square in Jilemnice, take cycle track 22 to ascend via Roudnice to Rezek, and then descend via Rokytno to Rokytnice nad Jizerou. Leave cycle track 22 in Dolni Rokytnice, cross the river and continue via Blansko to Jablonec nad Jizerou. Turn right for Sklenarice, where you join cycle track 4251 for Vysoke nad Jizerou. From there, continue down the ‘Greenway Jizera’ track 17A past the Borovice viewing tower. Near Skodejov, where the track runs to the left, continue straight down road 289 to Prikry and then to Semily. Continue on road 292 along the River Jizera for Jilemnice, or take the ‘Greenway Jizera’ track 17, which is a mild ascent from the river on smaller roads. In Dolni Sytova, turn right for Perimov and take cycle track 4173 across the Perimovsky bridge, now a technical monument. After Mricna, join cycle track 4171 to go back to Jilemnice.
