In Ponikla, bead ornaments are made that you know from your grandmothers' and great-grandmothers' trees. The ornaments are still blown, silvered, dyed, decorated, cut and assembled by hand, which is why the entire unique production process is listed by UNESCO. You will get to know it during the excursion and at the end you will also try it out. A wonderful experience for children and adults! Plus, you'll take home a sparkling Christmas treasure.
Take a peek under the glassmakers' hands and warm up in the local glassworks. Although the glassworks has undergone modernisation, it still operates much as it did in the past - the glassworks is hand-blown and the heritage-listed grinding plant, built on a water turbine, is running at full speed. Guided tours of the factory take place every day from 8am to 3pm.
You can also visit the glass museum with unique pieces collected over the entire period of the glassworks. And besides - did you know that Frantisek beer is brewed right next to the glassworks and you can relax in the beer spa?
