From Hostinne around Hradecek

The town of Hostinne is guarded by two giants on the town hall tower. The ladies from the local information centre recommend a tour that starts at them.

The route is 27 km long and takes you from Hostinné through Cermná and Vlcice to the Hradecek Nature Park. The small village of the same name is situated under the ruins of Brecstejn Castle in the middle of beech forests. Czechoslovak history was written in their shadow when in 1967 one of the cottages was bought by a married couple, Olga and Václav Havel. The cottage, which is still called Havel's Hradecek, became a cultural and social centre for Chartists and representatives of the underground. We recommend getting off your bike here for a while and walking to the ruins of the castle and the famous cottage.

A blue hiking trail will lead you back to Hostinne from the Nad Hradecek crossroads. You will follow paved forest and field paths.
