The main tasks and missions of the Mountain Rescue Service include especially the organization and performance of rescue and search missions in the mountain terrain, providing first aid and transport of the injured, preparing conditions to improve the safety of visitors, etc.

The Mountain Rescue Service of the Czech Republic is administered by the Ministry for Regional Development. It works jointly with the Mountain Rescue association of volunteers to protect and assist visitors to the mountains in summer and winter.
