Zvedava ulicka Lane
Jilemnice
Zvedava ulicka (‘Curious Lane’) in Jilemnice is a valuable collection of folk architecture, most of which was built after a big fire in 1788. The name of the street is linked with the street layout where, on the western side, each house is one window closer to the street than the previous house, making the street curved and narrow. Legend has it that the house owners were thus able to watch what was happening in Jilemnice’s main street. It is a unique example of the Krkonose’s submontane folk architecture in an old suburban area.
