Janske Lazne Spa

The Janske Lazne Spa, the only spa on the Czech side of the Krkonose, is located in the town of the same name and has a long-standing reputation as one of the best of its kind in the Czech Republic. A great starting point for trips in the Krkonose

The spa town is situated at the foot of Cerna Hora (1299 m), the top of which is reached directly from the town by a cable car. Thanks to the newly built cable cars, ski lifts and cross-country ski trails, the town has become a top sports and recreation centre and an ideal starting point to the Krkonose National Park both in winter for skiers and in summer for cyclists and hikers.

Culture and social life

The cultural centre is the magnificent, purely Art Nouveau building of the Colonnade, the work of the Viennese architect Peter Paul Brang, built in 1904 by the important Trutnov architect Johann Blaschek. Dance evenings and musical performances of various genres are regularly held here, and during the day the Colonnade serves as a café for guests.

Classical music concerts and travelogue lectures are mainly held in the Jansky Dvur social hall. Weekends in the spa season are enlivened by promenade concerts directly on the main colonnade. The town cinema is also used for theatre and small-format shows in addition to film performances. All the facilities are designed in a barrier-free way and are easily accessible for disabled clients.
