Only the perimeter walls were left of the original chapel from the mid-18th century after it burnt down in the 1960’s. It was renewed in 1997-1999 from a public fundraising campaign and offers a place for contemplation as well as shelter from bad weather. The original altar painting, which dates back to 1754, is now located in the Krkonose Museum and depicts the Holy Family - the Virgin Mary and Child and St. Anne - the patron of Vrchlabi. Above the entrance a memorial tablet with a German inscription was placed to commemorate a visit by Emperor Joseph II. in 1778. Before the altar there is a wooden statue of pilgrim Frantisek by carver Petr Kysela, created in 2002.
